Credera is looking for a Marketing Automation Solution Architect to join our team on a 12 month fixed term contract in either Sydney or Melbourne.
The Marketing Automation Solution Architect is responsible for defining scalable customer engagement solutions centred on enterprise marketing automation platforms. They connect marketing strategy and customer experience objectives with the data, integration, security, channel, and operating-model decisions required for successful implementation.
The role combines deep marketing automation expertise with a broad understanding of the wider marketing technology ecosystem. Strong Braze experience is preferred; however, deep architectural experience with another leading enterprise marketing automation platform is also highly relevant. They lead solution architecture across the selected platform, customer data platforms, data warehouses, CRM, digital products, analytics, and channel providers.
As a senior practitioner, the Marketing Automation Solution Architect provides platform-informed but pragmatic technical leadership from discovery and solution shaping through implementation, launch, and optimisation, ensuring solutions are secure, supportable, and aligned to measurable customer and business outcomes.
Job Duties
Marketing automation strategy and client advisory
- Advise clients on how enterprise marketing automation platforms can support lifecycle marketing, personalisation, orchestration, and real-time customer engagement, with particular depth in Braze preferred.
- Facilitate discovery workshops with marketing, data, digital, security, and technology stakeholders to define requirements, constraints, and priorities.
- Translate customer journeys and priority use cases into a platform capability roadmap and sequenced implementation plan.
- Assess existing marketing automation implementations and adjacent platforms, identifying architectural gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Guide clients on platform operating models, governance, environment strategy, release management, and platform ownership.
Marketing automation solution architecture
- Design end-to-end marketing automation solutions covering platform structure, customer profiles, events, attributes, transactions, consent, channels, and orchestration patterns.
- Define scalable patterns for journeys or Canvases, campaigns, content, personalisation, experimentation, frequency management, and reusable components.
- Set architectural guardrails for email, SMS, push, in-app messages, Content Cards, webhooks, and connected content.
- Produce solution architecture, integration designs, data-flow diagrams, decision records, and non-functional requirements that guide delivery.
- Ensure platform designs address privacy, consent, security, performance, resilience, supportability, and regional requirements.
Data, identity and integration architecture
- Define platform data models, user identification and aliasing approaches, anonymous-to-known identity patterns, and profile lifecycle rules.
- Design integrations using Braze SDKs, REST APIs, Cloud Data Ingestion, Currents, and webhooks where Braze is selected, or comparable capabilities on other enterprise marketing automation platforms.
- Establish event taxonomies, attribute standards, source-of-truth rules, data latency expectations, and data quality controls.
- Align the marketing automation platform with CRM, CDP, data warehouse, consent, analytics, digital product, and channel-provider architectures.
Delivery leadership and technical governance
- Lead technical design decisions throughout implementation and maintain alignment between the approved architecture and delivered solution.
- Review configuration, integrations, code, test evidence, and release plans at key delivery checkpoints.
- Identify architectural and delivery risks early and work with project teams to agree practical mitigations.
Bridging marketing, data and technology teams
- Act as the senior translator between marketing stakeholders, data teams, product teams, security, and technical delivery teams.
- Ensure marketing requirements are expressed as clear platform, data, integration, and non-functional requirements.
- Help teams make informed trade-offs between customer experience, delivery speed, platform capability, and technical complexity.
- Support clients in moving from fragmented campaign execution to governed, reusable, cross-channel engagement capabilities.
Pre-sales and solution shaping
- Lead marketing automation solution architecture and estimation for proposals, pitches, platform assessments, and implementation planning.
- Shape delivery approaches, work packages, assumptions, dependencies, and resourcing models for platform engagements.
- Provide credibility and technical depth in client and partner conversations.
Capability and knowledge development
- Develop reusable marketing automation architecture patterns, reference designs, checklists, and accelerators.
- Contribute to quality standards and delivery methods for platform strategy, implementation, migration, and optimisation engagements.
- Mentor consultants and technical practitioners and support the development of Braze and broader marketing automation capability across the team.
- Stay current with Braze and other leading marketing automation platforms, recommended practices, ecosystem partners, and customer engagement trends.
Qualifications
Marketing automation platform and architecture expertise
- Deep hands-on and architectural experience with an enterprise marketing automation platform. Braze experience is preferred, including Canvas, campaigns, segmentation, personalisation, channels, data configuration, and administration.
- Equivalent experience with platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Adobe Journey Optimizer, Marketo, Oracle Eloqua, or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Insights - Journeys is also relevant, alongside the ability to transfer that expertise to Braze.
- Demonstrated experience designing user identity, event and attribute models, consent and subscription management, and anonymous-to-known customer journeys.
- Experience designing enterprise solutions spanning marketing automation, CRM, CDP, cloud data platforms, analytics, digital products, and channel providers.
- Strong understanding of privacy, security, deliverability, testing, deployment, monitoring, and operational support considerations.
- Able to communicate complex architecture clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders and facilitate decisions across diverse teams.
- Braze certification is preferred. Certification in another enterprise marketing automation platform, architecture, cloud, data, or marketing technology is also desirable.
Education and experience
- Significant experience, typically 7+ years, in marketing technology, customer engagement, digital delivery, or related enterprise technology roles.
- Substantial experience leading solution architecture or technical design for complex enterprise marketing automation implementations, migrations, or optimisation programs.
- Consulting experience and a relevant tertiary qualification are preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
