About the role
This is not your typical process improvement role.
As a Business Process Lead, Capability & Certification Delivery, your primary focus is to build enterprise capability in process improvement and problem solving, underpinned by globally recognised certification standards.
You will design, deliver and embed structured learning pathways aligned to the Council for Six Sigma Certification (CSSC) framework, spanning:

Yellow Belt

Green Belt
-
Black Belt
-
Master Black Belt
Alongside Six Sigma, you will also lead the uplift of Lean thinking and practical improvement behaviours across the organisation.
While you will still support high-impact improvement initiatives, your success will be measured by how effectively you:

Key responsibilities
Capability & Certification Leadership (Core Focus)
-
Lead the design and delivery of enterprise wide Lean Six Sigma training programs aligned to CSSC certification standards
-
Develop structured certification pathways from Yellow Belt through to Master Black Belt
-
Facilitate engaging, practical training (classroom, workshop, and on-the-job application)
-
Establish governance for certification, assessment, and accreditation of practitioners
-
Build internal capability through coaching and train-the-trainer models
Coaching & Uplift
-
Coach leaders, project teams, and practitioners in problem solving and structured improvement methodologies (DMAIC, Lean, etc.)

Embed consistent ways of working and improvement tools
-
Mentor emerging Green Belts, Black Belts, and senior practitioners
-
Translate complex methods into simple, practical application for frontline teams
Continuous Improvement Delivery (Supporting)

Support delivery of high-impact improvement initiatives where required
-
Apply Lean and Six Sigma techniques to solve complex business problems
-
Ensure initiatives deliver measurable, sustainable outcomes
Centre of Excellence Contribution
-
Contribute to the evolution of Sydney Water’s Process Improvement Centre of Excellence

Standardise tools, templates, and training materials
-
Align capability uplift with enterprise priorities and transformation programs
About you
Essential experience:
-
Proven experience designing and delivering Lean and/or Six Sigma training programs
-
Strong understanding of CSSC frameworks or equivalent
-
Experience developing capability across multiple certification levels
-
Strong facilitation and coaching capability
-
Excellent communication skills
Qualifications :
-
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt preferred
-
Certification aligned to recognised global bodies
-
Tertiary qualification or equivalent experience
