Due to a recent retirement, we are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our Belmont Desalination Project where your contributions will directly impact our major infrastructure projects.
The Opportunity
As the Senior Project Engineer for the Belmont Desalination Project, you will be at the forefront of delivering one of Hunter Water's most complex and strategic initiatives. Your role will focus on the concept design, detailed design, construction and commissioning of the project.
Your responsibilities will include:

Deliver Capital Works in accordance with Hunter Water's "Asset Creation Framework" and best practise

Assist the Senior Project Manager to guide and support other Project Engineers and team members
-
Manage design change, quality control, construction and commissioning activities for the delivery of new assets including management of consultants and contractors
-
Manage the Performance Guarantee Period (PGP) for the 2-year period. Commencing in 2028.
- Proactively manage internal and external stakeholders
-
Proactively manage safety, environmental and quality outcomes of projects

Contribute to knowledge management and continuous improvement initiatives
What you'll need to be successful:
Essential Criteria:
-
Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline
-
Demonstrated work history in relevant roles including experience managing capital works projects and programmes of work.

Demonstrated experience in commissioning and/or operation of process plants, preferable water treatment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build effective working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.

Proven experience in consultant and contract management/ administration.
- Demonstrated experience in engineering investigation, planning, design and preparation of tender documentation preferably of water and wastewater infrastructure.

Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a deadline-driven workplace and to effectively manage challenges and changing priorities whilst still meeting team and corporate deadlines.

Class C Drivers licence & Construction Induction card (NSW white card)
Desirable Criteria:
-
Demonstrated experience in water treatment plant construction and commissioning

Working understanding of the proof of performance process, including NSW Health requirements

Demonstrated knowledge of design guidelines and practices for water infrastructure
