We are seeking an experienced, reliable male support worker to provide community access support to a male NDIS participant in North side of Brisbane. This is an immediate opportunity with flexible, scalable hours.
Initial allocation: 10 hours per week (days/times TBD based on participant preference and your availability)
Growth opportunity: Hours can be increased as you demonstrate reliability and build rapport with the participant and team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIESCommunity Access Support
- Accompany participant on community activities (shopping, library, social/recreation, appointments)
- Provide practical support and encouragement during outings
- Support participant to make choices and exercise autonomy in community settings
- Facilitate social participation and community inclusion
- Use positive behaviour support strategies to encourage independence
- Adapt support based on participant preferences and goals
Daily Living Support
- Assist with activities of daily living (meal preparation, household tasks, personal hygiene support as outlined in support plan)
- Encourage and support participant to develop independence and life skills
- Maintain safe, clean, hygienic environments during support
- Model and reinforce positive health and safety practices
Documentation & Communication
- Complete accurate, timely progress notes in Shift Care system (participant activities, goals progress, any concerns)
- Communicate with Care Coordinator and RN regarding any changes or concerns
- Provide handover to incoming staff (verbal & written where applicable)
- Report incidents or safeguarding concerns immediately to Director/RN
- Maintain confidentiality of participant information
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & CERTIFICATIONS
Must have at commencement:
✅ Current Driver's Licence
✅ Reliable Vehicle with Comprehensive Car Insurance
✅ Current First Aid Certificate
✅ Current CPR Certificate (valid for 1-2 years)
✅ Current Infection Control Certificate (or willingness to complete immediately)
✅ NDIS Worker Orientation (or completion within first 2 weeks of employment)
✅ WWCC / Working with Children Check (if supporting participants under 18)
✅ NDIS Orientation Module
Proof of all certifications must be provided before commencement.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Certificate III or IV in Community Services / Disability Support
- Previous experience as a support worker (minimum 3 months)
- Experience supporting adults with disability
- Understanding of NDIS and person-centred support
Pay: From $35.00 per hour
