DEALERSHIP OPERATIONS MANAGER
First Choice Freo – Beaconsfield & O’Connor
First Choice Freo is looking for an experienced, hands-on Dealership Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of our two used-car dealerships in Beaconsfield and O’Connor.
We are a busy, independently owned dealership with a large and varied range of vehicles. We need someone capable of taking ownership of daily operations, leading our team and ensuring both yards run professionally, efficiently and consistently.
This is not a desk-only management position. We are looking for someone who is comfortable being involved in every part of the operation—from supporting sales staff and managing stock presentation to resolving customer concerns and keeping both locations organised.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the daily operation of both dealerships
- Lead, support and hold the sales and yard teams accountable
- Coordinate staff rosters and ensure both locations are properly covered
- Monitor sales performance, enquiries, follow-ups and monthly targets
- Ensure vehicles are correctly priced, advertised and presented for sale
- Coordinate vehicle preparation, detailing, mechanical work and movement between yards
- Maintain high standards across both sites, including cleanliness, signage and stock presentation
- Assist with appraisals, trade-ins and purchasing opportunities
- Ensure sales paperwork, compliance and dealership procedures are followed correctly
- Handle customer concerns professionally and help resolve problems quickly
- Conduct regular stock reviews and identify ageing or underperforming vehicles
- Report directly to the owner and provide clear updates on sales, staff, stock and operational issues
- Step in and assist with vehicle sales when required
ABOUT YOU
The successful applicant will be:
- Experienced in automotive sales or used-car dealership management
- A confident leader who can motivate staff and maintain accountability
- Highly organised and capable of managing two locations
- Commercially minded, with a strong understanding of vehicle pricing, stock control and profit
- Comfortable dealing with customers, staff, suppliers and service providers
- Honest, reliable and able to make sensible decisions without constant supervision
- Focused on customer service without losing sight of the commercial needs of the business
- Confident using dealership management systems, online advertising platforms and lead-management tools
- In possession of a current driver’s licence
Previous experience as a Used Car Manager, Sales Manager, Yard Manager, Dealership Operations Manager or similar is highly desirable.
