About Prosper Care and Support
Prosper Care and Support is a registered NDIS provider delivering warm, person-centred support across Melbourne's west. We match our workers to participants based on skills and personality, and we back our team every step of the way. We're growing and looking for casual Disability Support Workers around Melton and Hoppers Crossing.
About the role
You'll provide one-to-one support to participants in their homes and out in the community. We currently have two kinds of shifts in the western suburbs:
- Personal care & mobility support - assisting an adult with morning personal care, safe transfers and getting out into the community. Manual-handling and transfer experience is highly valued (some shifts are double-staffed for safe handling).
- Emotional & capacity-building support - calm, trauma-informed, low-demand support for a younger participant with everyday tasks, community access and building confidence toward their goals.
What you'll do
- Personal care, hygiene and mobility assistance where required
- Safe manual handling and transfers
- Support to access appointments, activities and the community
- Transport in your own vehicle
- Patient, respectful support that keeps the participant in control
- Clear communication - including messaging ahead before you arrive and confirming your shifts
- Accurate shift notes
What we're looking for
- Warm, patient and genuinely reliable
- Trauma-informed and led by the participant
- Experience in disability, aged care or mental health support (highly regarded)
- Confidence with personal care and/or manual handling for the relevant shifts
- Calm and grounded in challenging moments
Requirements
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willing to obtain)
- Working with Children Check
- Current First Aid & CPR
- Valid driver's licence and your own reliable, insured vehicle
- Right to work in Australia
- Certificate III in Individual Support/Disability (desirable)
