Nurse Unit Manager - Level 1
The Level 1 Nurse Unit Manager for Anaesthesia, PACU (Post-Anaesthesia Care Unit) and Day Procedure staff, provides operational and clinical leadership to the perioperative nursing team at Port Macquarie Private Hospital. In this role, they oversee daily staff scheduling, resource allocation, and clinical workflows to ensure seamless patient transitions from pre-op through to post-surgical recovery. They are responsible for maintaining strict safety standards, managing unit budgets, and fostering a collaborative environment that aligns with the hospital's governance and quality care metrics. Ultimately, they serve as a vital link between frontline nursing staff, anaesthetists, and hospital administration to optimize theatre efficiency and patient outcomes.
The Nurse Unit Manager role consists of clinical aptitude, dynamic planning and supportive leadership to enable the nursing team to provide a high level of quality service and care to our patients.
About You
To succeed in this role, you must display strong clinical knowledge and competence within an acute surgical setting. You will hold a passion for client care and a high standard of customer-focused service in line with Ramsay's core values.
You will have exceptional communication skills and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
You will bring;

Relevant qualifications and Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse

Minimum three (3) years’ nursing experience

Previous experience in a surgical or day procedure unit

Flexibility to be available weekends, weekdays and evenings

Clinical leadership experience or post graduate specialty qualifications will be highly regarded

Current clinical experience working in perioperative services.
