About Lizard Centre:
For over 20 years the Lizard Centre has been a leader in Applied Behaviour Analysis and early intervention in Australia. We provide high-quality, evidence-based therapy and supports for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental conditions.
In this role, Therapy Assistants work closely with children and adolescents to implement Behaviour Intervention and Support Plans, focusing on building practical skills that support independence and participation in daily life. This may include one-on-one therapy sessions, social engagement, and community-based support.
We currently have an exciting opportunity in
Bligh Park to support a family requiring urgent care. We are seeking
two Therapy Assistants to work with
two siblings, providing individualised one-on-one support and delivering tailored therapy programs to help them achieve their goals.
Sibling 1
2 sessions per week (choose any 2 days from the following):
- Tuesday 3:30pm-6:00pm
- Wednesday 3:30pm-6:00pm
- Thursday 3:00pm-5:00pm
- Friday 3:00pm-5:00pm
Sibling 2
2 sessions per week:
- Tuesday 4:00pm-6:00pm
- Wednesday 4:00pm-6:00pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 therapy and supports to clients in varied settings, including home/clinic/school/in the community.
- Support clients in developing their skills; communication, social interactions and emotional regulation.
- Collect client data to track progress and identify areas of improvement.
- Foster and support a positive environment that encourages client participation.
Skills & Experience
- Studying or completed a Degree/ Certificate in Psychology, Disability, Education, Occupational Therapy or related field (preferred)
- Experience working with children is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- A passion for helping individuals reach their full potential
Requirements:
- Right to Work in Australia
- Working with Children Check & NDIS Workers Screening Check (or willing to obtain)
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module - 'Quality, Safety and You'
- Australian Driver's License & Vehicle
- First Aid/CPR (Current) and willing to maintain
- Laptop/iPad/Phone - you will be using your own device on shift
