About the Role
We are looking for an exceptional Senior Occupational Therapist or Senior Speech Pathologist who is ready to combine clinical expertise with people leadership and help shape the next stage of our Allied Health service.
As Allied Health Team Lead, you will lead and support a small but growing team of clinicians, provide clinical supervision and mentoring, oversee clinical quality and contribute to the ongoing development and growth of the service.
You will also maintain a small clinical caseload, allowing you to remain connected to practice while having dedicated capacity to lead and develop your team.

Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, support and develop our Allied Health team.
- Provide regular clinical supervision, mentoring and reflective practice.
- Support early-career clinicians to develop their confidence, capability and clinical reasoning.
- Monitor clinician wellbeing, workloads, caseloads and performance.
- Support recruitment, onboarding and professional development.
- Build a positive, collaborative and accountable team culture.
- Foster strong multidisciplinary collaboration across Allied Health and Positive Behaviour Support.
Clinical Leadership & Quality
- Champion high-quality, ethical, evidence-informed and neurodiversity-affirming practice.
- Provide clinical guidance and support with complex cases and clinical decision-making.
- Support high standards across assessment, intervention, documentation and reporting.
- Contribute to clinical governance, risk management and continuous quality improvement.
- Ensure practice meets relevant professional, NDIS and organisational requirements.
Service Development
- Work closely with the CEO and leadership team to help shape and grow our Allied Health services.
- Identify opportunities to improve service delivery, participant experience and clinical systems.
- Develop strong relationships with participants, families, referrers and other stakeholders.
- Contribute to service innovation, planning and sustainable growth.
Senior Clinical Caseload
Maintain a small caseload within your professional discipline, providing high-quality assessment and intervention using a strengths-based, person-centred and neurodiversity-affirming approach.
About You
You will be an experienced clinician who combines strong clinical judgement with a genuine passion for developing people and building great teams.
You don't necessarily need to have held a formal Team Lead title before. We are equally interested in experienced senior clinicians who have demonstrated leadership through supervision, mentoring or clinical guidance and are ready to take their next career step.
Essential
- Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy or Speech Pathology.
- Minimum 5 years' relevant clinical experience.
- Current AHPRA registration for Occupational Therapists or appropriate Speech Pathology Australia membership/eligibility for Speech Pathologists.
- Experience providing clinical supervision, mentoring or professional support.
- Strong clinical reasoning and commitment to evidence-informed practice.
- Demonstrated commitment to neurodiversity-affirming, strengths-based and person-centred practice.
- Knowledge of the disability/NDIS sector.
- Excellent communication, organisation and relationship-building skills.
- Current driver's licence and reliable vehicle.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check, or ability to obtain these.
- Strong alignment with Autism Abilities' values.
Previous Team Lead/Senior Clinician experience and experience developing or growing clinical teams or services will be highly regarded.
