About the role

The Climate Risk & Net Zero Unit at the MoH leads and coordinates NSW Health’s climate risk response. We work with a range of internal and external stakeholders on a strategic approach to decarbonising our health system and developing climate adaptation and resilience. As the Principal Policy Officer, you would play a key role in the team’s strategy and activities.

What you will be doing
- Lead and support NSW Health organisations’ climate risk response and oversee the two-way flow of information, ideas and opportunities between the Ministry and organisations.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with key staff within the Ministry of Health, NSW Health organisations and relevant government agencies to embed climate risk responses across NSW Health.
- Lead and manage team/s to support the Agency in meeting policy commitments and/or roll-out of significant policy initiatives
- Represent NSW Health on relevant external committees and working groups, as required
- Prepare and plan climate risk and net zero transition, innovation and investment programs.
- Manage Climate Risk and Net Zero Unit administration processes, staff development and monitor team performance to ensure program outcomes and/or expectations are achieved.
Oversee the preparation of reports, briefs and correspondence to inform or respond to Agency and/or Government requests
