We have multiple permanent roster lines available within our Learning and Lifestyle Centre (Day Program), Community Access and Sil supports in Ipswich/Yamanto, offering 30-40 hour fortnightly contracts. These rosters include a combination of day and afternoon shifts with some early evenings and opportunities to pick up additional shifts where available.
Our Ideal Candidate
Our ideal candidate is a calm, resilient and highly capable Disability Support Worker with experience supporting participants who have complex support needs, Level 3 Autism, behaviours of concern and Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSPs).
You will have demonstrated experience supporting individuals who may display verbal or physical aggression and understand how to respond safely and effectively using proactive and person-centred approaches. Success in this role requires someone who can remain composed under pressure, maintain professional boundaries and build trusting relationships while supporting participants to achieve positive outcomes.

Working in this role, you will support people with disability to achieve their NDIS goals, build independence and actively participate in their local community.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support participants through structured learning activities, recreational programs, skill development and meaningful community engagement. Supports may include arts and crafts, cooking, sports, appointments, social outings, volunteering opportunities and helping people develop confidence, relationships and everyday life skills.
Other key duties will include:
- Supporting participants to achieve their NDIS goals through skill development and community participation.
- Providing personal care and assistance with daily living activities where required.
- Supporting meal preparation, budgeting and household tasks.
- Assisting participants to access appointments, activities and community events.
- Building positive relationships that promote inclusion, choice and independence.
- Accurately documenting supports and following individual support plans and behaviour support strategies.
We are specifically seeking candidates who are:
- Confident supporting participants with complex behaviours and restrictive practices where applicable.
- Experienced working with participants diagnosed with Level 3 Autism Spectrum Disorder.
- Comfortable supporting individuals who may display violent or aggressive behaviours.
- Willing to work closely with behaviour support practitioners, families and allied health professionals.
- Capable of implementing PBSPs consistently and promoting positive outcomes.
- Comfortable providing personal care and manual handling support.
- Strong communicators who can work independently and as part of a team.
We also require:
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) is advantageous.
- Availability to work a permanent roster including day, afternoon and night shifts.
- Good computer skills and experience using Word, Excel and Outlook.
- A current or willingness to obtain a Blue Card, NDIS Worker Screening Check, First Aid, CPR and National Criminal History Check.
- An open Driver Licence and comprehensive vehicle insurance.
