Position Title: Team Leader - Commercial Laundry

Position Overview: As a Team Leader in the commercial laundry division, you will play a pivotal role in supervising and coordinating the activities of our production team to ensure the timely and efficient processing of laundry orders. You will be responsible for leading, motivating, and mentoring a team of production workers, while maintaining high-quality standards and adhering to safety protocols. You MUST have at least 2 years experience in a supervisory role to be considered for this role. You must be able to work between 6am and 6pm daily on rotation including some weekends. Weekends we are only trading during 6.00am-2.00pm. We can split the days into longer or shorter days to suit all Team Leaders.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision and Team Leadership:
- Lead and oversee the daily operations of the production team, including machine operators, sorters, ironers and packers.
- Provide clear instructions, guidance, and support to team members to ensure efficient workflow and productivity.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team culture, promoting teamwork and accountability.
Production Management:
- Ensure production schedules are met by managing work assignments and prioritising tasks effectively.
- Monitor and optimise workflow to maximise efficiency and meet customer deadlines.
- Perform quality checks to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
Training and Development:
- Train new team members on standard operating procedures, safety protocols, and quality standards.
- Identify opportunities for skill development and provide coaching and feedback to team members to improve performance.
Safety and Compliance:
- Enforce safety policies and procedures, ensuring that all team members follow safety guidelines and use protective equipment as required.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and report any hazards or issues.
- Collaborate with the Workplace Health & Safety Manager to address safety concerns promptly.
Inventory and Equipment Management:
- Maintain inventory levels of laundry supplies and coordinate orders as needed.
- Report equipment maintenance and repair needs to the maintenance department.
Communication and Reporting:
- Communicate production updates, issues, and challenges to the General Manager and other relevant stakeholders.
- Prepare daily and weekly production reports, including productivity and quality metrics.
- Clear communication and ability to have direct discussions with team members when necessary.
