Purpose of the Role
The Educational Leader is responsible for:
- Leading the development and implementation of the educational program
- Ensuring alignment with the VEYLDF
- Driving continuous quality improvement under the National Quality Standard
- Supporting educators to deliver high-quality, inclusive, and developmentally responsive learning experiences
- Embedding therapy-informed practices within the curriculum
This role directly supports Quality Area 1 – Educational Program and Practice.
Key Responsibilities
1.Curriculum Leadership & Program Oversight
- Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of the educational program
- Ensure curriculum aligns with:
- VEYLDF Outcomes
- EYLF Principles & Practices
- Approved Learning Framework requirements
- Oversee documentation systems (observations, learning stories, cycle of planning)
- Monitor program quality across all rooms
- Ensure learning experiences are developmentally appropriate and inclusive
3.Compliance & Quality Improvement
- Ensure compliance with:
- Education & Care Services National Regulations
- National Quality Standard
- Child Safe Standards
- Contribute to:
- Quality Improvement Plan (QIP)
- Assessment & Rating preparation
- Maintain high standards of documentation and program evidence
- Support achieving and maintaining “Exceeding” rating
4.Family Engagement
- Support educators to communicate learning effectively with families
- Guide staff in writing meaningful learning stories
- Promote strong family partnerships
- Assist with school readiness transition plans
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (minimum)
- OR Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (preferred)
- Minimum 2–3 years experience in an early learning setting
- Current Working with Children Check
- First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis & Asthma training
Pay: $25.32 – $41.45 per hour
Work Location: In person
