About the role
As our new Technology Business Partner, you’ll align technology initiatives with business priorities and the organisation’s investment roadmap. Acting as the key link between Technology and the business, this role captures demand, supports prioritisation, and ensures initiatives deliver measurable value.
You will partner with senior leaders across the organisation to identify opportunities where technology can improve business outcomes, shape investment priorities, and support V/Line’s technology transformation agenda. This role plays a critical part in ensuring technology investments are aligned with business strategy and deliver measurable operational value.
Working across stakeholders, the role facilitates collaboration, balances competing demands, and champions the technology roadmap. It also leverages knowledge of the Enterprise Project Management Framework, business architecture, and strategy to align initiatives effectively.
This position partners with Technology teams and business leaders to drive strong stakeholder engagement and alignment across V/Line. The role may also involve additional duties in line with capabilities, including occasional participation as a stakeholder conduit during 24/7 application support.
About you
To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following key selection criteria within their application, as this forms part of our merit-based recruitment process:
Must have 5+ years' experience in a technology business partnering, business relationship management, enterprise systems, or similar role
Established software development lifecycle (SDLC) experience and how this relates to modern build and run approaches
Demonstrate experience building meaningful relationships and influencing various types of stakeholders (in terms of both seniority and skillset)
Proven experience successfully translating business needs into technology solutions and technology roadmap alignment
Proven experience supporting or partnering for corporate systems, technology operations and risk management.
Relevant tertiary qualification in information systems or technology field (highly desirable)
Experience within government, transport, utilities, or other large complex organisations will be highly regarded (highly desirable)
Salary for this position is commensurate to the successful candidate’s aligned skills and experience to the position.
