About the Role
As the Head of Practice, you will provide operational leadership across Youth Insearch's practice improvement initiatives and training and development lifecycle. As part of this role, you will conduct needs analysis, designing and delivering program content to ensure Youth Insearch maintain a highly skilled workforce. Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead and support organisational safeguarding practices, ensuring compliance with the Child Safe Standards and relevant legislative requirements.
- Set performance indicators for program delivery.
- Promote strong child safety and risk management practices.
- Coordinate and support management to undertake legislative updates to policies and procedures.
- Coordinate the development, delivery, implementation and evaluation of staff capability programs across the organisation.
- Design, develop and deliver capacity building activities and learning packages.
- Oversee the completion of performance acquittals alongside Program Delivery and Administrative Staff.
- Deliver coaching to practice team members.
- Overseeing and managing the delivery of the continuous improvement and innovation framework.
- Identify practice gaps and opportunities from across the organisation and delivering continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
As this role is instrumental in strengthening Youth Insearch's safeguarding frameworks and the delivery of high-quality services, it is important that you have a passion for supporting at-risk youth and possess community values.
To be considered for this role, you will need to have the following attributes as a minimum:
- Tertiary qualifications in social work, social sciences or related field with strong experience in service delivery and practice.
- Cert IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent delivery experience.
- Proven knowledge of child development, child protection, mandatory reporting, suicide prevention/ intervention, trauma, and family violence issues, and an in-depth knowledge of relevant sectors and Federal and State legislation.
- Proven experience working through complex cases and identifying risks.
- Proven track record of clinical and line supervision and support to multidisciplinary teams, and a strong commitment to, and the ability to lead staff in working in the best interests of children and young people.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
- Proven ability to embed lived experience and participant voice into service design and practice.
- Experience in delivering group training, preferably training in group coaching techniques.
- Demonstrated capability in leading teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional excellence.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative leadership style.
This position has the following essential requirements for the role:
- National Police Check.
- Full NSW Drivers License.
- WWCC.
- Current First Aid.
