Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission.
Collectively, Victoria's Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the `Courts Group'.

The County Court of Victoria is established pursuant to the County Court Act 1958. It has original and appellate jurisdiction and is the principal trial court in the State of Victoria. The Court hears over 12,000 criminal, common law, and commercial cases each year. The County Court has unlimited monetary jurisdiction in common law and commercial matters. In its criminal jurisdiction, the Court hears all indictable offences except treason, murder, and related offences.
There are a total of 80 Judges of the Court and over 300 staff, including judicial support staff. The County Court regularly conducts circuit sittings at 12 circuit courts situated in major centres throughout regional Victoria.

About the Role
The County Court of Victoria is seeking a highly capable Project Officer to provide high-level project management support in a complex and sensitive operating environment.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer & Principal Registrar, the role works closely with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team to support the delivery of the Court's strategic priorities. The position is responsible for coordinating high-priority initiatives, preparing high-quality briefings and reports, supporting stakeholder engagement, and driving continuous improvement across Court Administration.
This role requires sound judgement, discretion, strong organisational skills and the ability to manage ambiguity and competing priorities with confidence.
Key accountabilities include:
- Provide high-level project management support to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team.
- Coordinate and deliver strategic projects and initiatives aligned with the Court's priorities.
- Prepare and review sensitive briefings, reports and other documents with accuracy and strategic insight.
- Build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders and respond to issues with sound judgement.
- Manage project planning, implementation, risk management and evaluation.
- Identify and implement improvements that strengthen organisational performance and support Court Excellence.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- demonstrated experience managing projects in a busy, complex and high-accountability environment
- detailed knowledge of the County Court's operations and operating environment, and the ability to apply that knowledge in a practical and strategic way
- strong project delivery capability, including planning, governance, implementation and risk management
- excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- highly developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate and build trust with senior stakeholders
- excellent written communication skills, including the ability to prepare high-quality briefings and reports
