Are you an experienced credit professional ready to lead a high-performing team in a customer-focused banking environment? We’re looking for a confident and commercially minded
Team Leader – Credit Assessment to lead and support a team of assessors delivering quality residential, personal, and occasional commercial lending outcomes. This is an opportunity to combine your strong credit expertise with people leadership, coaching, and operational oversight in a role that genuinely influences customer experience and lending quality.
In this role, you’ll:
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Credit Assessors
- Assess and approve complex lending applications within delegated authority
- Drive consistency, quality, and sound credit decisioning aligned to risk appetite
- Manage workflow, productivity, and service outcomes across the team
- Build strong relationships with lenders, risk teams, and key stakeholders
- Champion continuous improvement and digital lending initiatives
- Foster a strong culture of compliance and customer focus.
What you’ll bring:
- Proven leadership experience within retail banking credit assessment or lending operations
- Strong underwriting capability across residential and consumer lending, including complex/self-employed scenarios
- Excellent knowledge of Australian lending regulations including NCCP and AML/CTF
- Strong coaching, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive mindset with the ability to lead change and improve processes
- A collaborative, customer-focused approach.
