A little about the role
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Social Worker will play a key role in promoting the wellbeing of vulnerable children and young people. You will work closely with families, offering early intervention and prevention support to reduce risks to children, strengthen family capabilities, and improve outcomes for children and their families.
Some key responsibilities include:
- Actively engage children, youth, and families through intensive outreach.
- Provide targeted support to priority groups, including infants, young children, adolescents, people with disabilities, and those experiencing family violence.
- Evaluate the needs, risks, and safety of families, and develop targeted, time-limited goals and interventions.
- Ensure all safety checks are completed promptly and in accordance with relevant procedures and guidelines.
Full-Time position: The base salary for this position is $92,286.48 - $99,294.52 (based on 1.0 FTE) + super + vehicle & fuel card + salary packaging options up to $15,900 per annum.
About you
You’re passionate about improving the lives of children and supporting family preservation through intensive intervention. You will be confident in providing trauma informed, family-centred, strengths-based practice to achieve lasting positive impact.
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Recognised Social Work Qualification (or comparable).
- Proven track record in working with and on behalf of children, young people, and families.
- Strong understanding of the role and function of statutory Child Safety Services and ability to influence and collaborate with Child Safety and our sector.
- Experience in conducting comprehensive assessments to create, implement, monitor, and evaluate service delivery and support plans.
- Demonstrated experience in assessing parenting capacity.
- Strong ability to compose clear, accurate, and concise reports, letters, and memos.
