We provide mechanical servicing, repairs and maintenance across a diverse range of vehicles, trucks, mobile plant and specialised equipment. This is a hands-on role offering a combination of workshop and field-based work.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment and testing procedures.
- Carry out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance.
- Inspect, diagnose and repair engines and associated mechanical components.
- Repair and maintain braking, steering and suspension systems.
- Inspect and repair transmissions, driveline components, wheel bearings and hubs.
- Remove, repair, replace and refit defective mechanical components and assemblies.
- Perform oil, filter, coolant and other scheduled fluid changes.
- Use electronic diagnostic equipment to identify and rectify faults.
- Inspect vehicles and equipment for defects and additional maintenance requirements.
- Test vehicles and equipment following repairs to ensure safe and correct operation.
- Complete service records, inspection reports and job documentation.
- Carry out workshop and field-based mechanical repairs as required.
- Follow manufacturer specifications and workplace health and safety requirements.
About You
To be considered for the position, you should have:
- Relevant automotive mechanical trade qualifications or equivalent.
- Experience working as a qualified motor mechanic.
- Strong mechanical diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- Experience with engines, brakes, steering, suspension and driveline systems.
- Ability to use electronic diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and record-keeping skills.
- Current driver's licence.
- Strong commitment to safe working practices.
Experience with trucks, mobile plant, heavy equipment, hydraulics or specialised vehicles will be highly regarded.
