What does the job look like?
We’re currently seeking a part-time Management Accountant to join our finance team supporting a dynamic business unit. This is a critical role focused on fixed assets, stocktakes, and assets under construction (AUC), with exposure to both operational and commercial stakeholders.
This opportunity is ideal for a hands-on finance professional who enjoys working closely with the business, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is looking for flexibility without compromising on impact.
This role is onsite based out of our HQ in Essendon Fields (VIC)
Other duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Lead and manage Assets Under Construction (AUC), including tracking spend across multiple active projects and ensuring financial accuracy
Monitor project performance to ensure costs, timelines, and capitalisation are aligned with business expectations
Own and coordinate stocktake activities, including regular and annual cycles, with hands-on/on-site involvement
Maintain and oversee the fixed asset register, including IT equipment and site-based assets
Prepare weekly and monthly management reports, including variance analysis and commentary
Perform general ledger reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and insights to support commercial and operational teams
Act as backup support for other Management Accountants to ensure continuity across reporting deadlines

You are a proactive and detail-oriented finance professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment. You’re comfortable managing competing priorities and thrive when partnering with stakeholders across the business.
You bring a strong accounting foundation and are confident working with large datasets, financial systems, and operational teams.
The ideal candidate can demonstrate:
Bachelor’s degree in business or commerce with a major in accounting.
Qualified CA/CPA or currently completing CA/CPA.
1-3 years relevant experience within Accounting
Experience preparing board reports or external client reports is desired.
Strong understanding of:
Financial and management accounting
Budgeting and forecasting
Working knowledge of finance information systems and enterprise accounting software (SAP preferred)
Advanced to intermediate user of all Microsoft Office programs.
Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to work with large volumes of data from different sources
Proficiency in preparing high quality financial reports including management presentations and reporting packages.
