Brioche by Philip is a busy specialty café located in Eastland Shopping Centre, Ringwood. We're looking for an experienced and passionate Barista / Café Supervisor to become a key member of our team.
This is a hands-on leadership role. Coffee is at the heart of what we do, so we're looking for someone with strong barista skills who can also confidently lead the team and oversee the café's daily operations when the Café Manager is not on site.
You'll work closely with the Café Manager while learning our systems and team, with the opportunity to take responsibility for supervising shifts and ensuring the café operates smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare consistently high-quality espresso coffee
- Dial in coffee and maintain quality throughout service
- Maintain coffee equipment and a clean, organised coffee station
- Support and coach team members in coffee preparation where required
Leadership
- Supervise the team during your shifts
- Lead day-to-day café operations when the Café Manager is not on site
- Delegate tasks and maintain an efficient workflow
- Train and support new and existing team members
- Assist with opening and closing procedures
- Ensure high standards of customer service, food safety and cleanliness are maintained
Café Operations
- Customer service and POS operation
- Prepare cabinet food including croissants, baguettes and sandwiches
- Toast sandwiches and light café meals
- Run food and drinks to customers
- Assist with dishwashing and general café duties
- Work collaboratively across all areas of the café
About You
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a barista in a busy café
- Roster: Must be available to work weekdays and weekends
- Excellent coffee knowledge, milk texturing and workflow management
- Previous leadership, key holder or supervisor experience is highly regarded
- Confident leading a team during busy service
- Friendly, reliable and professional
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Happy to work across all areas of the café
- Ideally located within a short driving distance of Ringwood
