We're a busy and growing retail meat, grocery and café business based in Alexandria, looking for a motivated Junior Accountant to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis.
About the Role
This is a hands-on accounting role — not a bookkeeping position. You'll be working closely with management, supporting the day-to-day financial operations across our retail meat and grocery store and café.
38 hours per week | Monday to Friday | On-site only
What You'll Be Doing
- Preparing and reviewing financial reports and statements
- Managing accounts payable and receivable
- Assisting with month-end and year-end close processes
- Bank reconciliations and cash flow monitoring
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting
- Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and tax obligations
- Liaising with external accountants and auditors as required
What We're Looking For
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- CPA/CA progress (or intention to pursue) highly regarded
- 1–2 years experience in an accounting role (food, retail or hospitality experience a bonus)
- Solid understanding of accounting principles
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel
- Strong attention to detail and good communication skills
- Reliable, proactive and a team player
