T-pac Australia is a wholesale timber distributor supplying quality timber products to the Australian market. We work closely with international timber manufacturers and suppliers to ensure efficient supply chain management, quality assurance and customer satisfaction.
As part of our operational improvement initiatives, we are seeking an experienced Timber Supply Chain & Technical Integration Specialist to support the development of operational systems, warehouse processes and technical capability across our timber business.
Position Summary
The Timber Supply Chain & Technical Integration Specialist will play a key role in improving operational efficiency by developing warehouse procedures, implementing service standards, strengthening vendor management practices and providing specialist technical knowledge on Indonesian timber products.
This role will also be responsible for transferring specialist knowledge to internal teams, improving warehouse operations and supporting technical customer enquiries relating to timber products.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for warehouse, logistics and operational activities.
- Establish Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and performance standards for logistics providers, transport companies and other third-party service providers.
- Review and improve warehouse workflow, timber stock movement and inventory control processes.
- Develop systems to improve timber stock accountability, traceability and operational efficiency.
- Provide specialist technical advice regarding Indonesian timber species, grading, machining, drying processes and product applications.
- Train sales, warehouse and operations personnel on timber product knowledge and technical applications.
- Support customers by recommending suitable timber products based on technical specifications and intended applications.
- Work closely with warehouse personnel to improve yard layout, storage systems and timber handling processes.
- Liaise with suppliers, freight companies and third-party contractors to improve operational performance.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across the timber supply chain.
- Prepare operational documentation, reports and process improvement recommendations.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
Applicants must demonstrate:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in timber manufacturing, timber processing, timber export or timber wholesale operations.
- Demonstrated experience developing SOPs and operational procedures within the timber industry.
- Experience establishing Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and managing third-party logistics providers.
- Extensive knowledge of Indonesian hardwood species, grading systems, moisture content, kiln drying, machining and timber manufacturing processes.
- Strong understanding of timber warehouse operations, inventory management and stock control.
- Demonstrated experience providing technical training to sales and operational teams.
- Experience supporting customers with technical timber product recommendations.
- Knowledge of timber legality and sustainability certification systems, including SVLK, FSC and PEFC.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Strong analytical, planning and problem-solving skills.
Highly Desirable
Preference will be given to candidates with:
- Experience working with timber products exported from Indonesia to Australia.
- Experience supporting timber import and wholesale businesses.
- Experience implementing warehouse operational improvements.
- Experience managing international timber supply chains.
- Experience delivering technical knowledge transfer and staff capability development.
Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
