About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate Accounts Payable Coordinator to lead and coordinate the City's Accounts Payable function.
Reporting to the Service Lead Budgeting and Accounting, this role leads a small team responsible for the accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices, creditor payments and related financial transactions. The position oversees the end-to-end accounts payable function, including payment processing, reconciliations, governance reporting and audit support, while ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, policies and internal controls.
The role also manages the City's Corporate Credit Card Program and Insurance Claims function and plays a key role in driving continuous improvement, service excellence and strong financial governance across the organisation.
About you
We're seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Coordinator with a strong focus on leadership, customer service and financial governance.
In addition to demonstrated experience, you'll need to have:
- A post-secondary qualification in accounting, finance or business.
- Experience leading or supervising a team in an accounts payable or finance environment.
- Sound knowledge of accounting principles, GST requirements and financial controls.
- Strong reconciliation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience improving processes and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.

Salary and Benefits: Starting from Level 5 Step 1 - Level 6 Step 4 ($96,998 - $112,705) of the City of Cockburn Industrial Agreement 2025, based on qualifications and experience.
