Filicious is a well-established, friendly dog grooming salon located near Lindfield Station, with a loyal base of regular clients. We specialise in low-stress grooming - focusing on reducing fear, anxiety, and stress through gentle handling and a deep understanding of canine behaviour.
Our salon is owned and operated by a Japanese groomer with extensive knowledge of canine behaviour and gentle handling techniques. Dogs are groomed with patience and respect, and building trust-based relationships is at the heart of everything we do.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and confident Senior Dog Groomer to join our team. In this role, you will take full ownership of grooming .
You will be comfortable working independently, managing your own schedule, and delivering consistent, high-quality results. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced groomer who shares our passion for low-stress, behaviour-aware grooming and wants to work in a calm, professional environment with a loyal client base.
Your Responsibilities
- Managing the full grooming process independently - including but not limited to pre-clipping, bathing, drying, and finishing
- Delivering breed-appropriate styles to a high standard
- Handling dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments with patience and confidence
- Building positive, trust-based relationships with dogs and their owners
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised salon environment
- Communicating clearly with clients about their dog's coat, behaviour, and grooming needs
About You
- Proven experience as a dog groomer, with the ability to complete full grooms independently
- Confident handling dogs of varying temperaments, including anxious or challenging dogs
- Skilled across all stages of grooming and able to adapt to each dog's individual needs
- Calm, professional, and takes pride in high-quality work
- Shares our commitment to low-stress, gentle, behaviour-aware grooming
- Japanese language skills are a bonus (not essential)
