Alya is a registered NDIS provider specialising in high-intensity support, mental health, complex behaviours, and participants whose needs are too involved for a one-size-fits-all approach. As we grow that work, we're looking for a Participant Support Officer who can hold a portfolio of complex participants and make sure their supports run with the consistency, clinical awareness, and follow-through that this kind of care demands.
This is a role for someone who builds trust easily, thinks clearly under pressure, and closes loops properly, and who wants to do it somewhere that treats complex care as a craft rather than a checkbox.
This role will particularly suit you if you are:
- An early-career community or nursing background candidate, including recent or current nursing students, who wants to build in a genuinely high-acuity environment where clinical awareness matters. Nursing study is desirable, not essential.
- An experienced support coordinator who works with complex participants and would value bringing your relationships to a provider that does this work properly.

What you'll do
You'll manage a portfolio of participants with complex needs, and own their experience of Alya end to end. That means building genuine relationships with participants, families, and support workers; keeping supports properly coordinated and communicated; spotting clinical and behavioural issues early and heading them off before they escalate; and working hand in hand with our rostering, leadership, and clinical teams. You'll keep your documentation accurate and current, and you'll be trusted to make calls, communicate directly, and carry things through to done.
This is not passive coordination. In complex care, the details are the job.
What you'll bring
- Experience in disability, mental health, or community services, ideally with complex or high-intensity presentations
- Real emotional intelligence, and the interpersonal skill to build rapport with participants, families, and workers alike
- The composure to hold competing priorities and emotionally complex situations without losing the thread
- A calm, grounded, professional presence, and the ability to hold boundaries while staying warm and approachable
- Strong organisation, and a genuine instinct to follow through and close loops
Highly regarded
- A nursing or allied health background, or current nursing study
- NDIS experience, and case management or participant coordination experience
- An existing network of participants or referrers you could bring with you
- A working understanding of professional boundaries and complex care
