Personal Assistant – Civil Claims
12-month fixed-term contract | Full-time | Melbourne
About the role
We’re looking for an experienced Personal Assistant to join our Civil Claims team on a 12-month fixed-term, full-time basis.
You’ll provide high-quality PA, secretarial and administrative support to our Practice Managers, Claims Managers and Medical Advisors, helping the team deliver an exceptional service to Avant’s members.
What you'll be doing
- Providing proactive PA, secretarial and administrative support to the Civil Claims team
- Preparing correspondence, statements, submissions and other claims documentation
- Managing confidential claims files, records and correspondence
- Preparing and reviewing documents from digital dictation
- Processing payments, accounts and invoices
- Managing telephone enquiries and ensuring urgent matters are escalated appropriately
- Supporting government recovery applications and related administration
- Assisting with general administrative tasks across the team
About you
We’re looking for someone who is organised, proactive and highly detail-focused, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work confidently in a professional environment.
You’ll ideally have:
- Previous experience as a Personal Assistant, Legal Secretary, Executive Assistant or similar
- Strong administration, organisation and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- The ability to manage confidential information with discretion
- Previous legal, insurance or claims experience is desirable
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
