About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Intermediate Accountant to join our growing team. This role is ideal for an accountant with 2-4 years of public practice experience who is looking to further develop their technical expertise while building strong client relationships. Working closely with team members, you will manage a portfolio of clients and assist with a broad range of accounting, taxation, and compliance services.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare financial statements and income tax returns for individuals, small to medium sized companies, trusts, partnerships, and self-managed super funds.
- Prepare and review BAS, IAS, and other compliance lodgements.
- Liaise directly with clients and the ATO regarding accounting and taxation matters.
- Assist with tax planning, business advisory, and client consulting engagements.
- Ensure compliance obligations and deadlines are met.
- Identify opportunities to improve client outcomes and internal processes.
- Support junior team members and contribute to a positive team environment.
About You
- 2–4 years' experience in public practice accounting.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, or a related discipline.
- Sound understanding of Australian taxation and accounting principles.
- Experience using Xero, MYOB, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
- High attention to detail and strong organisational abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
