Lutheran Care operates 6 Thrift Shops throughout SA. Our Thrift Shop were established to serve a dual purpose. They exist to provide affordable clothing to those in need in our communities and they also provide a vital revenue stream through the sale of quality recycled clothing and bric-a-brac with the proceeds of all goods sold supporting the programs / services that Lutheran Care provides to SA communities. Current programs include emergency relief, financial counselling, family support and education, foster care, housing and family shelter, and refugee services.

About the Role
As a Shop Assistant, you’ll be the face of our Elcies Thrift store — greeting customers, keeping the shop looking its best, and helping every visitor have a great experience. Every sale you make helps fund Lutheran Care’s essential community services that support individuals and families doing it tough.
The majority of work in this role will be on weekends and school holidays, so availability for these are essential.
Approximately 3 shifts per fortnight.
Your Key Responsibilities
Deliver friendly, helpful customer service in store
Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately and handle cash sales
Keep the shop clean, tidy and attractively presented
Assist with pricing, tagging, and displaying donated items
Help sort and restock donations as needed
Support and work alongside our amazing volunteers
Contribute to a positive, inclusive and community-minded team culture
