We are seeking an experienced and motivated Wet Fire Service Manager to lead our wet fire division. This role is responsible for managing a team of 7–10 field technicians and office support staff while ensuring all inspection, testing, maintenance, repairs, and projects are completed in accordance with Australian Standards and client expectations.
The successful applicant will have a strong technical understanding of wet fire systems, be confident interpreting Australian Standards, and possess excellent leadership and client relationship skills. An accreditation through the Fire Protection Association Australia (FPA Australia) is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor and manage a team of 7–10 wet fire technicians and office staff.
- Oversee scheduling, productivity, quality assurance and compliance across all service work.
- Prepare and review quotations for maintenance, repairs, upgrades and new installations.
- Interpret and apply relevant Australian Standards, including but not limited to:
- AS 1851
- AS 2118
- AS 2419
- AS 2441
- Provide technical advice and support to technicians and clients.
- Review completed service reports and quotations for technical accuracy.
- Respond to client enquiries and provide professional solutions to technical and compliance issues.
- Ensure all work complies with Australian Standards, legislation and company procedures.
- Assist in business development by identifying additional repair and upgrade opportunities.
- Monitor technician performance, training requirements and safety compliance.
- Liaise with suppliers, contractors and key stakeholders.
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through effective communication and timely service delivery.
Skills & Experience
- Extensive experience within the wet fire protection industry.
- Thorough knowledge of Australian fire protection standards and legislation.
- Proven experience quoting wet fire maintenance, repairs and upgrade works.
- Previous experience managing field service teams and office administration staff.
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to interpret building plans, specifications and compliance requirements.
- Sound computer skills and experience with service management software.
- Current driver's licence.
Desirable Qualifications
- FPA Australia accreditation (preferred).
- Relevant trade qualification in fire protection, plumbing or mechanical services.
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Fire Systems or related discipline (desirable).
- Current White Card.
- First Aid certification (desirable).
