About the Role
The Branch Manager is responsible for the daily operation of the branch including product sales, member service, security, safety and ensuring the effective handling of Members' complaints in accordance with the Bank’s objectives. The Manager will ensure a superior member experience is delivered by promoting a sales culture through coaching, guidance and motivation and will work independently of the Regional Manager on an ongoing basis. The Manager provides leadership and supervision to the Everyday Banking team with an emphasis on staff competency and efficiency. The Manager may from time to time participate in business development activities and community affairs to increase the Banks' visibility and to enhance new and existing business opportunities in line with the strategic focus.
Key responsibilities
- Managing and overseeing daily operations and ensuring service excellence
- Monitor and supervise staff in delivering accurate, compliant, and member-focused service
- Fostering a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing across the team
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products and services across all AMB brands
- Mentoring staff to promote and cross-sell products in line with member needs and branch goals in line with AMB strategy and goals
- Manage team performance and provide coaching and guidance as needed
- Ensure safety, security, and audit procedures are followed consistently
- Communicate updates and ensure staff have the tools and information to succeed
- Maintain excellence in reporting, compliance documentation, and feedback analysis Champion AMB’s values and help create a welcoming, high-performing business. Support the Regional Manager to achieve KPIs, monitor risk and operational controls (including section security, insurance limits, and KRIs), and implement procedural improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance.
- Oversee all consumer lending products, ensuring compliant, efficient, and member-focused delivery.

Skills and Qualifications
- Proven experience and successful track record in retail banking
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience within a branch retail banking environment
- Demonstrated Consumer Lending Experience
- Strong communication and coaching skills
- Ability to manage change and support team development
- Solid organisational and time management abilities
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills and accurate data entry
- A commitment to AMB’s culture and values, with a desire to lead by example
- FSR Tier 2 Accreditation
