headspace Gosford & Lake Haven is seeking compassionate, skilled, and motivated clinicians to join our Youth Access Team (YAT). As the first point of contact for young people aged 12–25 years, you will play a vital role in ensuring they receive the right support, at the right time.
About the Opportunity
As a Youth Access Team Worker, you will conduct comprehensive bio-psychosocial assessments, provide brief interventions, triage young people, and connect them with the most appropriate services to support their mental health, wellbeing, and recovery.
Working alongside experienced mental health professionals, GPs, allied health practitioners, and community partners, you will help young people experiencing mental health concerns, substance use issues, or those at risk navigate their journey to better health. In this role you will:
- Be the first point of support for young people aged 12–25, providing compassionate assessment, brief interventions, and timely pathways to care.
- Deliver youth-focused mental health support, using a strengths-based approach to engage young people, families, and carers.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, partnering with clinicians, GPs, allied health professionals, and community services to coordinate holistic care.
- Help shape better outcomes for young people, through advocacy, service improvement, community partnerships, and integrated care.

About You
We are looking for someone who has:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and professional registration in Psychology, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Counselling, Welfare, or a related discipline, as required for the role.
- Demonstrated experience supporting young people aged 12–25, with a strong understanding of youth mental health, wellbeing, and early intervention approaches.
- Exceptional engagement and communication skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with young people, families, carers, and service providers.
- Experience delivering holistic assessments, brief interventions, and coordinated referrals within a multidisciplinary health or community setting.
- A collaborative, adaptable, and youth-focused approach, with the ability to work independently, strengthen partnerships, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
