About the Program
Running from 30th November 2026 to 19th February 2027 , Beach Energy's paid Summer Vacation Program gives you the opportunity to gain practical industry experience, contribute to meaningful work and build the skills, confidence and networks that can help launch your career.
As a Summer Vacation Program - Economics student, you will join our Finance & Corporate Services division in Adelaide, supporting the Corporate Planning & Economics team through a structured placement focused on economic analysis, financial analysis, business research, reporting and commercial insights.
You will work on meaningful projects that contribute to actual business outcomes, gain hands-on experience rather than observing from the sidelines, and present findings and recommendations to Executive and Senior Leaders at the end of the program.
Throughout the program, you will be supported by a dedicated mentor and buddy, with ongoing guidance, coaching and opportunities to learn from experienced professionals across the business.
Additionally, there will be the opportunity to visit one of our operational sites and see how the industry operates in practice, giving you exposure to activities not typically experienced at university. What You'll be Doing
In this placement, you will support Finance & Corporate Services by applying economics, financial analysis and business research skills to assist with commercial insights, reporting, planning and decision-making activities, while gaining practical experience in Beach Energy’s corporate environment.
Undertaking economic and financial analysis to support Finance & Corporate Services projects and business planning activities.
Reviewing and interpreting data, trends and assumptions to help inform commercial insights and decision-making.
Contributing to simple financial models, cost analysis or scenario comparisons under supervision.
Summarising findings clearly, including key observations, risks, limitations and recommended next steps.
Supporting the preparation of briefing materials, presentations or working papers for Finance & Corporate Services stakeholders.
Researching relevant market, economic, industry or regulatory information to support business analysis and corporate decision-making.
Identifying key themes from internal and external information sources and preparing concise summaries for review.

About You
We are looking for a motivated, curious and forward-thinking student who is interested in gaining real-world experience and exploring a potential career with Beach Energy.
To be considered, you will currently be in your penultimate year of a tertiary qualification in engineering, finance, economics or a similar field.
Have the right to work in Australia.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
An interest in the technical aspects of the oil and gas industry.
Commercial acumen, which will be highly regarded.
Flexibility, curiosity, problem-solving ability and a willingness to learn and apply feedback.
