About the Role:
Working with the kitchen team to produce high quality meals, with a focus on breakfast and conference service. This is a casual, AM shift only position, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced morning service environment and takes pride in portion control, quality control, waste control, and consistent food preparation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high quality breakfast and conference food every shift
- Prepare sauces, soups, hot dishes and pantry items (salads, sandwiches, desserts) to standard recipes
- Maintain portion control, food quality and proper storage standards
- Requisition stock and manage waste in line with hotel policy
- Keep the kitchen clean, safe and equipment well-maintained
- Follow WH&S guidelines and hotel operational policies
- Support the team and complete duties as directed by the Executive Chef/Sous Chef
What You’ll Bring:
- Experience in a commercial kitchen, ideally with breakfast and/or conference/banquet service
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, portion control and recipe execution
- A high standard of personal grooming and presentation
- A team-first attitude and ability to build good working relationships
- Availability to work early morning shifts, as this role is AM shift only
- Sound understanding of food safety, storage and WH&S practices
