The Role
This is a hands-on, varied position that combines driving with warehouse and forklift work. On any given day you might be loading a run of jobs onto the truck, completing customer deliveries and collections across metropolitan Melbourne, and returning to help the warehouse team with unloading and stock organisation.
You’ll be dealing with trade customers, fabricators, and suppliers on a regular basis, so being professional and presentable on the road matters just as much as being capable behind the wheel. The routes are local and you’ll be back at the depot each day - no overnight work.
What You’ll Be Doing
Driving & Deliveries
- Operate a Medium Rigid (MR) truck (Fuso Fighter 1627) to complete daily deliveries and collections across Melbourne metropolitan area.
- Handle, secure, and transport powder-coated products and materials safely and without damage.
- Liaise professionally with customers and suppliers at point of delivery and collection.
- Complete delivery documentation accurately and return paperwork to the office.
Forklift & Warehouse
- Operate a forklift to load and unload materials, finished goods, and incoming deliveries.
- Assist the warehouse team with stock organisation, labeling, and maintaining a clean, safe working environment.
- Support the production floor with materials handling as required.
Safety & Compliance
- Conduct pre-start vehicle checks and report any defects or maintenance needs promptly.
- Comply with all road transport regulations, Chain of Responsibility obligations, and the company WHS requirements.
- Ensure loads are properly secured and within vehicle mass limits at all times.
About You
We’re not after someone who just wants to drive a truck. We want someone who gives a damn - about the vehicle, the product, the customer, and the job. Here’s what we need:
You’ll be a strong fit if you:
- Hold a current, unrestricted MR (Medium Rigid) licence and have solid experience driving similar vehicles in a metro environment.
- Hold or are willing to obtain a current LF Forklift licence - experience operating a forklift in a warehouse or industrial setting is a genuine advantage.
- Are reliable and punctual - this role anchors the delivery schedule and the team depends on you.
- Present professionally and communicate clearly with trade customers and suppliers.
- Are physically capable and comfortable working in an industrial environment - loading, unloading, and warehouse work are part of the job.
- Have a clean driving record and take road safety seriously.
- Can work independently once given direction and don't need to be micromanaged.
Previous experience in manufacturing, powder coating, or metal finishing is advantageous but not required - we’ll show you how we work. What you need to bring is the licence, the attitude, and the reliability.
