We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Project Engineer to support a wide range of engineering activities within the project discipline. The successful candidate will assist in ensuring that operational and service standards are achieved while contributing to the design, development, and continuous improvement of engineering processes, practices, and methodologies. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in project planning, design, coordination, and execution within a dynamic engineering environment.
Your key responsibilities will include:

Develop and manage infrastructure designs and short-term mine plans for borrow and rock pits.

Analyze and interpret mine plans to ensure alignment with operational objectives.

Conduct tailings facility inspections and monitoring activities.
-
Monitor groundwater instrumentation, surface monuments, and water balance systems.
-
Participate in annual external tailings management audits.
-
Prepare and coordinate weekly and monthly work plans and schedules.
-
Supervise and conduct survey work to support project planning and execution.

Monitor project progress and ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and standards.

Respond to technical inquiries and resolve engineering-related issues.

Contribute to the development and improvement of engineering procedures, policies, and practices.

Perform equipment and production studies to support operational targets.

Verify that engineering designs are correctly implemented in the field.

Conduct surveys and collect data required for detailed engineering designs.

Assist with annual budgeting, construction planning, and operational scheduling.

Support mine and infrastructure projects through research, technical documentation, process improvements, and continuous learning of industry trends and technologies.
The ideal candidate will have:

Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Engineering (Mining, Civil, Geotechnical, or a related field).

University graduate with at least 1 year of practical experience in a mining environment.

Basic proficiency in engineering and project management software, including AutoCAD Civil 3D, MineSight, Global Mapper, and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project).

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in English with stakeholders at all organizational levels.

Ability to work in a fast-paced multicultural environment.
- Willingness to work in both Brokopondo and Paramaribo on a rotational schedule of 14 days on duty followed by 7 days off.
