Primary Objectives:
Coordinate venue bookings and events at Parliament House, including the delivery of internally managed events from
set-up to pack-down, work with stakeholders to ensure externally managed events are conducted in line with
Parliament House policies and procedures, and contribute to related procurement and contract management activities.
Context Statement:
The Department of the Legislative Assembly (DLA) provides the Northern Territory Legislative Assembly, its Members
(MLA) and Committees with quality and timely support for the operation of the Parliament, Parliamentary Committees,
the Parliament House precinct, and Electorate Offices (and staff).
The Asset and Building Management Unit, which is part of the Corporate and Electorate Support Division, is responsible
for the management of facilities at Parliament House and electorate offices.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Liaise with client groups in relation to functions throughout the Parliament House precinct including maintaining
the functions database, preparing quotations for functions, and set-up and break-down of function areas as
required.
2. Manage and ensure the correct operation of equipment and systems for functions including ICT, audio visual
equipment and systems, and building management systems.
3. Ensure accurate and complete records are maintained in the NTG Records Management System and relevant
databases and prepare historical, statistical and financial reports as required.
4. Develop and implement strategies for continued improvement of service delivery.
5. Maintain effective working relationships with the Office of the Speaker, Protocol NT, Office of the Chief Minister,
government agencies, and others to support the planning and delivery of large-scale events, including negotiation
and collaboration across agencies and jurisdictions.
