We are offering a unique, ground-floor opportunity for a passionate Head Chef to take the reins of our mobile kitchen. This isn't just a standard cooking job: it's a chance to actively guide our pizza catering services, shape our menu, and build the future of DJ Nonna's moving forward.
Because we are deeply committed to providing hospitality and training opportunities for young people, you will also step into a vital leadership role. You will supervise, train, and mentor our junior staff, helping them build confidence and skills in a fast-paced, exciting environment.
What you will be doing
- Kitchen Leadership: Oversee all mobile kitchen operations, food safety, and preparation for high-volume catering events across Adelaide suburbs and regions.
- Oven Management: Take full control of our heavy-duty mobile wood-fired oven, ensuring consistent, top-quality pizzas.
- Youth Mentorhsip: Supervise, train, and positively guide our junior team members, fostering a supportive and educational environment for young people entering the hospitality trade.
- Event Operations: Work hands-on with the team to set up and pack down the DJ Nonna's Pizzeria marquee, kitchen stations, and assist around our custom pop-up setup before and after each event.
What you need to succeed
- Proven hands-on experience as a pizza chef, with specific expertise in managing wood-fired ovens and ingredients preparation.
- A genuine passion for mentoring and a patient, encouraging approach to leading young people.
- A valid Working with Children Check (WWCC).
- A current National Police Certificate.
- Drivers licence and own transport.
- The physical capacity and willingness to assist with the bump-in and bump-out of mobile event equipment, including heavy-duty marquees.
- A team-first attitude and the drive to help build a brand-new business from the ground up.
