Outdoor Education Casual/Seasonal Staff
Haileybury Rendall School are looking for Instructors to join our Outdoor Education team for the 2027 Top End Dry Season.
The HRS Outdoor Education Program is a progressive, expedition focused program from Year 4 to Year 9. We are looking for instructors to guide and help our students develop outdoor skills, navigate group challenges, and build positive experiences as they travel between our magnificent freshwater swimming holes and off-track campsites.
The full season and dates we are looking to fill are:
- 3 x Instructor roles – Full season (starting 21 April to 18 September 2027) 53 field days plus extra work on packing/shed and recce days. Navigation, hiking and paddling qualifications and experience essential.
- 3 x Argyle specific Instructor roles (20 August-10 September 2027) 24 recce and program days
These additional Instructors are required for the Lake Argyle programs where paddling and navigation qualifications and experience are essential.
Our Programs:
Term 2
- Year 5 Program - 3 days each x 2 - Base camp in dorms
- Year 6 Program - 3 days each x 2 - Base camp in tents
- Year 8 Program - 4 days each x 3 - Bushwalking Program, Litchfield NP.
Term 3
- Year 7 Program 4 days each x3 - Bushwalking, Litchfield NP.
- Year 9 Program 6 days each x3 - Kayak/Canoe journey, Lake Argyle WA
- Year 4 Program overnight sleepover
Opportunities for further work on Year 9 Rec Studies and VCE class mountain biking, climbing, sailing or bushwalking in Nitmiluk Gorge and Kakadu NP.

- Work on programs in locations that include Litchfield National Park, and WA's Lake Argyle.
- $500 Completion bonus to assist instructors with travel costs.
Ideal candidates would be enthusiastic outdoor leaders, qualified and proficient in:
- Independent group leading.
- Flatwater Kayak/Canoe &/or sea kayaking
- Supervision of water-based activities.
- Bronze Medallion or Pool Lifeguard equivalent
*** Essential- Cert IV, Diploma or Degree in Outdoor Education/Recreation ***
Preference is given to candidates willing to commit to the full set of dates, or the Lake Argyle dates (for paddle specialists) however all applications are welcome.
