We are looking for Indigenous Identified passionate counsellors, rehabilitation counsellors, registered psychologists or social workers registered with their affiliated body (ACA, PACFA, APS, AHPRA, ASORC); to service our diverse Western Australian - Workforce Australia customers.
Please be aware we are able to offer permanent/fulltime or contractor role. Our operating hours are between Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm.
As an Occupational Rehabilitation Consultant/Counsellor , you will help empower our customers in the community to gain sustainable employment, by assisting them with resolving their barriers, providing tools and strategies to ultimately find a pathway to sustainable employment. To effectively manage referrals to Professional Services from both Workforce Australia and Disability Employment Services. There is a focus on removing non-vocational barriers to employment via counselling to ensure where possible a sustainable employment outcome for the client. Some team members may work directly in the return to work/Occupational Rehabilitation programs with the goal of creating safe and durable work outcomes.
You will:
- Provide relevant assessment and counselling services to our customers to assist in removing barriers
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with the customers and internal stakeholders
- Manage caseload for billing and ensure notes are accurate
- Provide a daily summary of customer counselling session outcomes and attendance to the Business Manager
- Have an understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
- Have an ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples

About you:
We are seeking an experienced person who has a strong interest in assisting clients with returning to the workforce by helping remove non-vocational barriers to employment. You will meet the following key requirements of the role:
- It is essential that you have a degree-level qualification in Rehabilitation Counselling, General Counselling, Social Work or a Registered Psychologist (with AHPRA)
- Experience in one-to-one and group counselling
- Updating a database with clinical notes and billing
- Own ABN and Professional Indemnity and Professional Insurance if subcontracting vs an employee.
- Familiar with a fee-for-service basis
- Experience in working with the long-term unemployed is desirable but not essential
Ability to provide a current Working with Children check and agreement to undergo a national Police check
