Rural Funds Management (RFM) is seeking an organised and proactive Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team in our inner-city Sydney office. In this role, you’ll support qualified Accountants, learn from highly experienced Finance professionals, and play a key role in maintaining accurate financial information across the RFM group.
Key responsibilities
Working closely with Accountants and Senior Accountants, you will:
- Post journals and complete monthly reconciliations
- Reconcile accounts across RFM entities

Respond to queries from a variety of stakeholders

Liaise with operational staff on accounting matters
- Communicate with the Trustee regarding fund transfers

Support the preparation of monthly reporting and financial analysis
- Assist with annual budgets

Contribute to statutory accounts and taxation processes

Provide support to the bookkeepers when required
Requirements
We’re seeking an enthusiastic and detail focused team member who enjoys working in a hands-on environment. You’ll bring:

A tertiary qualification in Accounting

CA/CPA studies underway (or willingness to start)
- Solid technical accounting knowledge (Australian Accounting Standards)

Strong Excel and MS Office skills
- The ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities

Good analytical and problem-solving skills

Around two years’ experience in an Assistant Accountant, Graduate Accountant or Finance Officer role

A proactive, positive approach
- Experience in, or exposure to agriculture is highly regarded
