We are currently seeking an effective Financial Accountant at our state-of-the-art Head Office in Sydney Olympic Park NSW.
This is a 12 month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave – potential for progression to a permanent position.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be part of a team of three Financial Accountants to methodically & efficiently prepare comprehensive & accurate records of BMSA’s financial performance.

The Opportunity
- Preparation of accurate & timely month end Profit & Loss and balance sheet for reporting internally & to BSJ (Bridgestone Japan)
- Provide comprehensive analysis & commentary on the actual month end results against budgets and forecast
- Ensure the accurate completion of all BMSA reporting requirements in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards, Taxation Legislation & other Corporate Governance protocols. This includes but not limited to BAS, FBT, ABS surveys & JSox
- Establishment & maintenance of bank accounts, corporate accounts, corporate credit cards within the defined level of responsibility
- Accurate preparation & management of the Balance Sheet reconciliations. Identify & correct any inaccuracies and anomalies
- Ownership of the inventory including the organisation of the bi-annual stock take & stock adjustments forms completed accurately & with the correct authorisation
- Managing process of insurance renewals & claims process for the group, this includes workers compensation, Public and Product Liability, Motor Vehicles, ISR etc.
- Monitor and control the set-up of the GL chart of accounts in SAP
- Liaise with Internal & External Auditors at regular intervals as agreed
- Actively support all business units with adhoc queries & projects
About You - Essential
- CPA or CA
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Financial Accountant
- Knowledge of ‘best practice’ financial accounting principles
- Willingness for infrequent interstate travel when required
- Prepared to work 5 days per week in the office
- Current work rights in Australia
About You – Preferred
- Experience in medium to large businesses
- SAP experience or exposure
