What your day could look like
As a Peer Support Worker, you'll play an important role in strengthening connection, hope and understanding for people accessing mental health services. From sharing your lived experience to working alongside clinical teams, you'll help create a space where people feel heard, supported and empowered in their recovery.
Every day, you'll contribute by:
Building trusted relationships that help individuals feel safe, understood and motivated in their recovery journey
Using your lived experience to guide conversations, support goal setting, and inspire positive change
Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to bring a peer perspective into care and service delivery
Contributing ideas that enhance service quality, inclusion and recovery-focused practices
Let's talk about you!
You bring authenticity, empathy and resilience to everything you do. You know the value of being heard because you've lived it- and you use that insight to uplift others without judgement. You act with integrity, respect boundaries, and genuinely care about creating positive change in people's lives. You're motivated by connection and the opportunity to walk alongside others as they rediscover their strengths and purpose.
Here's what will help you thrive in this role:
Personal lived experience of mental health challenges and recovery, shared thoughtfully and professionally
Strong communication skills, with the ability to build trust and connect with diverse people
Confidence working collaboratively within a team while advocating for a peer-led perspective
Ability to support individuals in setting goals and navigating their recovery journey
You'll stand out from the crowd if you have experience delivering group programs or community-based support, and/or skills in promoting recovery-focused or psychosocial education approaches.
Above all, you'll bring compassion, integrity, dignity, innovation and courage into every interaction- helping create a more human-centred and hopeful healthcare experience.
Together, you'll help build a service where every voice matters and recovery is possible.
