Casual / Fixed-Term (Maternity Leave Cover – 6+ months, with high potential of extension)
Unanderra Family Doctors is a well-established, busy mixed-billing general practice in the Illawarra, providing high-quality, patient-centred care to our local community.
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Registered Nurse (RN) to join our clinical team on a casual, fixed-term basis to cover maternity leave for a minimum of 6 months, with the strong possibility of ongoing work beyond this period.
This role will suit a nurse who is confident working in a general practice environment, values clinical standards, and enjoys being part of a supportive, professional team.
Key Responsibilities
- Immunisations (including childhood and adult schedules)
- Wound care and dressing management
- Assisting doctors with minor procedures and clinical support
- Treatment room procedures including:
- ECG
- Spirometry
- Ear syringing
- Chronic Disease Management (CDM) and Health Assessments
- Patient education and goal-setting for chronic disease care
- Infection control and participation in quality improvement activities
- Accurate clinical documentation and teamwork with GPs and reception staff
About You
We are looking for a nurse who:
- Is AHPRA-registered as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Has experience working in General Practice
- Is clinically competent, calm under pressure, and well organised
- Works well independently while contributing positively to a team
- Communicates professionally with patients, doctors, and colleagues
- Demonstrates reliability, initiative, and strong clinical judgement
- Takes pride in delivering high-quality patient care
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced general practice environment with minimal supervision.
Desirable
- Experience with Best Practice clinical software
- Experience in Chronic Disease Management clinics
- Immunisation accreditation (or willingness to update)
