An exciting opportunity has arisen for an innovative and motivated Clinical Nurse Consultant to join the Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) team at Westmead Hospital. In this pivotal role, you'll collaborate with the IPAC team and partner closely with the NSW Biocontainment Centre (NBC) to strengthen governance frameworks and enhance operational processes for infection prevention and control across Westmead.

What you'll be doing
As a Clinical Nurse Consultant, you'll provide expert clinical leadership and consultancy to strengthen infection prevention and control practices across the organisation. You'll work collaboratively with clinicians and key stakeholders to identify infection risks, implement evidence-based strategies and promote a culture of continuous quality improvement.
In this role you will be:
Leading clinical consultancy, governance and evidence-based infection prevention initiatives across the hospital.
Developing, implementing and evaluating policies, procedures, education programs and quality improvement activities.
Providing specialist advice and support for accreditation, clinical risk management and service planning.
Delivering education, mentoring and clinical leadership to build capability across the multidisciplinary workforce.
Collaborating with Infectious Diseases, Microbiology and executive stakeholders to improve patient safety and organisational outcomes while contributing to research and professional advancement.

Essential Criteria:
Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Post Graduate qualifications relevant to the field or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the organisation
Selection Criteria:
Five ( years full time equivalent post registration experience and three ( years full time equivalent experience in specialty field.
Demonstrated ability in project management and strategic planning to set priorities.
Demonstrated ability in developing policy, procedures and guidelines and experience in report writing.
Demonstrated ability with a broad range of communication skills, both verbal and written with excellent team building skills.
Proven ability providing leadership working independently and as part of a team promoting a positive workplace culture.
Demonstrated skills in clinical teaching, competency in the use of contemporary information systems and experience in the development of specialty education programs.
