Join Our Growing Electrical Engineering & Electrical Contracting Team
We are a growing electrical engineering and electrical contracting business in
Perth, WA, delivering electrical infrastructure, commercial, industrial and
construction projects across Western Australia.
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Civil Draftsperson to join our
team and support the design, documentation and delivery of our electrical
projects.
About the Role
As a Civil Draftsperson, you will work closely with our electrical engineers,
project managers, electricians, contractors and other consultants to prepare
accurate and construction-ready civil drawings associated with electrical
infrastructure and electrical installation projects.
Your responsibilities will include:
-Preparing detailed civil drawings and construction documentation for
electrical projects
-Preparing site plans and civil layouts associated with electrical
infrastructure
Drafting underground electrical service layouts
-Preparing trenching and excavation plans for electrical services
-Drafting underground conduit and cable routes
-Preparing layouts for electrical pits and underground services
-Drafting substation and transformer locations
- Preparing layouts for switchboards, electrical equipment and electrical
compounds
- Drafting equipment foundations and concrete pads associated with
electrical installations
- Preparing access and hardstand layouts for electrical infrastructure
- Preparing civil works associated with electrical installations and
construction
- Coordinating civil drawings with electrical engineering designs
- Reviewing engineering drawings and incorporating design changes
- Updating drawings based on site conditions and construction
requirements
- Preparing drawings for construction, approvals and project
documentation
- Producing accurate as-built drawings at project completion
- Maintaining drawing revisions and document control
- Working with engineers and project teams to ensure designs are
practical and construction-ready
- Ensuring drawings comply with project specifications, relevant
- Australian standards and client requirements
Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience as a Civil Draftsperson
- Experience working with electrical contractors, electrical engineers,
utilities or infrastructure projects will be highly regarded
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD
- Experience preparing civil drawings for construction projects
- Ability to read and interpret civil, electrical and engineering drawings
- Understanding of underground electrical services, trenching and
conduit installations
- Understanding of electrical infrastructure and construction processes
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to coordinate drawings across multiple disciplines
- Good understanding of Australian drafting standards and practices
- Knowledge of Western Australian electrical and construction
requirements is advantageous
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
