About the position:
We’re on the hunt for an experienced Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our About Smiles network in Sydney on a casual basis.
In this dual role, you will support our dental team by assisting with a variety of treatments while also providing a welcoming and professional front-of-house experience for our patients. You will play an important role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the practice, balancing both clinical and administrative responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care: Assist with patient management, including greeting patients, preparing them for procedures, and ensuring their comfort.

Clinical Support: Prepare and sterilise dental instruments, assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, and maintain a clean and organised treatment area.

Inventory Management: Monitor dental supplies levels, ensuring the treatment room is well-stocked and organised.

Patient Education: Provide patients with post-operative care instructions and educate them about oral hygiene and preventive care.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with dentists, hygienists, and other staff to ensure a smooth workflow and positive patient experience.

Compliance: Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols, as well as regulatory requirements in the dental practice.

Administrative Support: Handle phone calls, emails, and inquiries, providing information about treatments and addressing patient concerns or complaints.

Billing and Insurance: Process payments, manage billing inquiries, and assist patients with payment plans and verification.

What do you need to succeed:

Prior experience as a Dental Assistant is essential

A Cert III or IV in Dental Assisting is beneficial but not mandatory
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-
Ability to multitask, prioritise tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment

Capability to address patient concerns and resolve issues with professionalism and empathy
