Primary objective
Train and Supervise Retrieval Officers while maintaining the integrity of patient records and providing essential
administrative support services to the public either directly or indirectly.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide training, support and mentoring to ensure the availability of a trained administrative workforce for front-line
Patient Services functions.
2. Act as the primary contact point for the daily operations of the Retrieval Unit across ASH.
3. Cultivate a culture synergy across Patient Services.
4. Participate in recruitment selection, rostering, training and performance management for the Retrieval Unit.
5. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being
undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
6. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.
7. Superior relationship building skills with a proven ability to achieve outcomes while encouraging staff to meet
operational requirements and outcomes.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Proven administrative abilities in a corporate, commercial, health facility or similar.
2. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage staff within a team environment while exercise initiative and sound
judgement in solving day to day operational issues, including roster management, staff education and training.
3. Proven computer skills within a Windows environment.
4. Demonstrated effective oral and written communications skills which facilitate effective communication with various
stakeholders.
5. Experience applying sound judgement, initiative, analytical skills and decision making.
6. Demonstrate the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with clinical groups supported by Patient
Services.
7. Plan, develop, monitor and implement training programs which ensure a multi-skilled work force is available to work
across Patient Services functions.
Desirable
1. Relevant certificate in administration training and assessment or significant progress towards qualification in a relevant
field(s).
