Role Overview
This project offers a dynamic and rewarding work environment where crews manage their own scope of work from start to finish, with support from their Area Supervisor as required.
We operate on an 18 days on / 10 days off roster , with personnel flying to site on Monday (Day 1 of the roster) and returning home on Friday (the first day of R&R). This roster provides employees with the benefit of enjoying two weekends at home every month .
Our operations are located throughout the remote gas fields of the Darling Downs region of Queensland , with a centralised Downer facility based in Chinchilla . From there, crews travel to their assigned gas fields each swing, experiencing the diverse rural landscapes of the Maranoa region and some of Australia's largest cattle grazing properties.
Daily pre-start meetings are conducted at the Downer laydown yard within each field location, where work scopes are allocated and discussed before crews travel to site. Upon arrival, crews meet with the client representative and sign on to the required permits before commencing work.
Once mobilised to the worksite, crews remain in the field for the duration of the shift to complete the assigned scope of work. Morning tea and lunch breaks are typically taken on site, with gazebos and camp chairs provided for comfort. Area Supervisors maintain regular contact with crews throughout the day while conducting inspections and support visits across multiple active work fronts. Team members are expected to work safely, think independently, solve problems effectively, and deliver high-quality outcomes that meet client expectations, project schedules, and budget requirements.
Employees are provided with late-model Toyota Hilux or Toyota Landcruiser vehicles. These are supported by a fleet of HR trucks , Franna cranes , and other specialised equipment required to safely and efficiently execute the work.
