Humanity Care Australia is seeking Disability Support Worker for a casual position in Adelaide, with regular weekly shifts available on weekdays and weekends. This role involves providing one-on-one support to a participant, focusing on daily living activities, maintaining healthy routines, personal care, and meaningful community participation. The position is paid in line with the SCHADS Award, based on experience.
We are looking for a calm, patient, and respectful worker who communicates clearly and confidently in English and understands the importance of boundaries, structure, and routine. The ideal candidate will be able to effectively support a person with hearing and intellectual challenges and work collaboratively within a small care team. An English-speaking background is preferred due to the participant’s communication needs.
Key responsibilities include assisting with personal care and daily tasks, preparing healthy meals and encouraging routine, supporting physical activity and social engagement, completing progress notes and incident reports, and following Positive Behaviour Support Plans. The worker will be expected to maintain professionalism and work respectfully with family members and other support staff.
Applicants with a Certificate III or IV in Disability Support or a similar qualification are preferred. Mandatory requirements include an NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working With Children Check, First Aid and CPR, Manual Handling and Infection Control training, and a current driver’s licence. Food safety and medication assistance training will be considered an advantage.
